There are three primary categories of MPNP, and applicants can apply to any of them after checking the eligibility. The MPNP has designed to allow the entry of eligible professionals in the province in a swift and easy manner. Candidates with skills or experience in fields which are in high demand in the province, are prioritized over others and have a good chance of selection through the draws.

Although the provincial government of Manitoba takes only 4-5 months for processing applications for immigration; however, the application needs to be verified at both the state and the federal level. As a result, the overall processing time for MPNP applications becomes 12 to 15 months which can be further extended up to 20 months in some cases which require extensive verification
Like other PNPS, MPNP has also Express Entry-linked immigration program to nominate Express Entry candidates for provincial from the pool. Remember, an applicant needs to qualify both the criteria set by provincial program as well as Federal Express Entry program to apply to Manitoba Express Entry Program. Nominated Candidates get additional 600 points to their respective Express entry CRS score which surely move them to the front line for getting ITA for Canada PR.
Irrespective of the immigration program, every candidate needs to appear to Language proficiency test like IELTS, TEF, CELPIP to show that he/she is well-versed in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English or French. To become eligible for MPNP, a candidate needs to score a minimum of CLB level 6 across all linguistic abilities including reading, writing, speaking and listening. The minimum CLB level for MPNP is lower than the Federal Express Entry Program as it requires a minimal CLB level of 7 in all linguistic abilities.
MPNP uses the point-based system based on factors like age, education, work experience, adaptability, and risk assessment. The overall score is 1000 and higher score of candidates facilitates the process of immigration to Manitoba
